Frequently Asked Questions

What does the switch on the PM-25S actually do?

It mutes the microphone at the body, so the speaker can silence their own mic without anyone at the mixing desk. That is useful for a roving mic passed around a room, a panel discussion, or a lectern where there is no sound operator on duty.

Is the PM-25S the same microphone as the PM-25?

Same cardioid dynamic capsule and the same sound, with an on/off switch added to the body. Choose the PM-25S where the person holding it needs control, and the plain PM-25 where a switch left in the off position would cause more trouble than it solves.

Will it work with any mixer, and does it need batteries?

Yes to any mixer with an XLR microphone input, and no batteries or phantom power are needed: it is a dynamic microphone. You will need a balanced XLR cable, sold separately. This is a wired microphone, so there is no frequency licensing to think about.
