Frequently Asked Questions

What is a variable white fresnel used for?

A fresnel gives a soft-edged, even wash with a controllable spot-to-flood spread, which is why it is the standard front light for stages, pulpits, lecterns and video sets. Variable white means you can tune the colour temperature anywhere from 3200K tungsten to 5600K daylight, so the fixture matches your existing lights or your camera white balance instead of fighting them. CRI 95 keeps skin tones looking natural on camera.

How do I control the OPERAC100VWF?

Over DMX512 through 5-pin XLR in and out, with RDM support, or manually from the 4-button TFT-LCD panel. You can choose 1, 2, 6 or 9 DMX channel modes. The 1-channel mode is the useful one for simple installs: set the colour temperature on the fixture itself and run it from an ordinary single-channel dimmer. Power is True1 in and out, so fixtures can be daisy-chained.

What is the difference between the 100W and 200W Opera fresnels?

Output and beam spread. This 100W model zooms 14 to 55 degrees, so it throws a tighter beam, while the 200W OPERAC200VWF is brighter and zooms 23 to 62 degrees for wider coverage. Both share the same 3200-5600K variable white engine, CRI 95, True1 power in and out, and DMX control. Choose the 100W for shorter throws and tighter specials, the 200W where you need more punch or a bigger wash.
