      Frequently Asked Questions

What can the LM75W do that a static LED par cannot?

It moves. Pan up to 630 degrees and tilt up to 270 degrees under DMX, so one fixture covers several looks across a show: a tight 13.5 degree beam for aerial effects, a gobo projected onto a wall or floor, or a colour from the 8-colour wheel. It also carries a rotating gobo wheel with 6 interchangeable patterns plus open, a 3-facet prism and DMX-controlled linear focus.

Do I need a lighting desk to use it?

No. Alongside DMX512 it runs in auto, manual, sound-active and master/slave modes straight from the 4-button LCD panel, so you can set it going at a party or small venue with no desk at all. For anything cued or repeatable, use DMX over the 3-pin XLR in and out, in either a 13 or 11 channel mode. Optional wireless DMX is supported if cabling to the fixture is awkward.

What should I watch for when rigging it?

Two things. Power is PowerCon in on 100-240V at about 110W, with 3-pin XLR for DMX, so plan your runs for both. Second, use the pan and tilt limit modes (centre, corner or edge) when the head is close to a wall, a low ceiling or a projector screen. They stop the head swinging into something during a reposition, which is the usual way a moving head gets damaged.
