Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 Live Stream Switcher

The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 is the top of the ATEM Mini range and the point at which the line stops being a compact switcher and becomes a genuine broadcast tool. It keeps the eight HDMI inputs of the Extreme and adds ISO recording of every one of them, an internal CFexpress slot, Thunderbolt, professional XLR audio with phantom power, 32-channel MADI and an internal timecode generator.

ISO recording, internally
Records all 8 HDMI inputs as separate clean H.264 .mp4 files up to 70Mb/s with AAC audio, plus the program output. Twenty-six stereo audio inputs are written as separate 24-bit 48kHz .wav files. The live switch is saved as a DaVinci Resolve .drp project so the show opens in post as an editable timeline. Recording goes to the internal CFexpress card slot or over USB-C, with a dedicated 10G Ethernet port for recording to network storage. Media formats ExFAT, APFS or HFS+.

Professional audio
2 x XLR combo inputs with +48V phantom power, so broadcast microphones connect directly with no external preamp. 1 x BNC MADI input carries 32 channels of digital audio from a mixing console. 6.35mm headphone output. The mixer handles 26 stereo inputs with on/off/AFV, level and peak metering, 6-band parametric EQ, expander, gate, compressor, limiter and master gain, and integrates with Fairlight Live.

Inputs, outputs and connectivity
8 x HDMI inputs with re-sync and standards conversion on every one. 3 x HDMI outputs, all assignable as program, with 4 aux outputs. 2 x USB-C 3.1 Gen 1. 1 x Thunderbolt carrying fill and key video out, video in, Ethernet and power. 1G Ethernet for streaming and control panels, plus a separate 10G Ethernet for recording. Two USB-C webcam outputs at 720p or 1080p.

Streaming
Direct RTMP and SRT streaming over Ethernet or shared internet over USB-C, plus the Blackmagic Cloud Stream Router. Accepts up to 8 remote RTMP or SRT streaming sources from compatible Blackmagic cameras, mapped to inputs — so remote contributors appear as ordinary switcher sources.

Control surface and processing
1 M/E row with 10 direct crosspoints on NKK buttons, a fader bar, 6 dedicated macro buttons, 8 key buttons, 6 aux buttons and 6 DSK transition selectors. 4 upstream keyers, 2 downstream keyers, up to 4 advanced chroma keyers, up to 4 linear and luma keyers, 1 SuperSource, 2 DVEs, 2 colour generators, internal timecode generator and red/green tally. Two media players with fill and key, 20 stills, and up to 200 frames of 1080 HD video.

Formats
Inputs accept 720p50/59.94/60, 1080p23.98 to 60 and 1080i50/59.94/60. Output and streaming standards 1080p23.98 to 60. 4:2:2 YUV, 10-bit, Rec 709.
