The Blackmagic Design ATEM 1 M/E Constellation HD is a full broadcast production switcher in a two-thirds rack, one rack unit chassis. Where the ATEM Mini range works over HDMI, the Constellation is built for SDI infrastructure — ten inputs, six independently assignable outputs, reference and talkback, and a 28-channel Fairlight audio mixer.

Ten converted SDI inputs
10 x 3G-SDI video inputs at 1.5G or 3G level A or B with automatic detection. Every input has its own standards conversion and re-sync, so mismatched cameras and playback sources lock without external converters. A reference input accepts Tri-Sync or Black Burst for genlock into an existing facility.

Six outputs, all assignable
6 x 3G-SDI outputs, each independently configurable as aux, preview or program. That flexibility is the practical difference from a fixed-output switcher: feed stage screens, record feeds, streaming encoders and monitors from one box without a router.

Production features
4 upstream keyers, 4 advanced chroma keyers, 1 downstream keyer, 1 DVE, 1 stinger and 7 total layers. Two media players with fill and key draw from a 20-still media pool and play clips up to 1080p60. A dedicated 3G-SDI multiview output is configurable to 16, 13, 10, 7 or 4 up with source labels and audio meters.

Audio
28-channel Fairlight mixer with 6-band parametric EQ and full dynamics. 2 x balanced 1/4-inch jack inputs, 8 channels of embedded audio on SDI in and 16 channels on SDI out. 5-pin XLR talkback in and out, plus an RJ45 for third-party talkback systems.

Control
10/100/1000 BASE-T Ethernet for ATEM Software Control and hardware panels including the ATEM 1 M/E, 2 M/E and 4 M/E Advanced Panels. USB-C for setup and updates, with USB-C webcam output at 720p or 1080p.

Formats
