This guide walks you through the PC function on the Phenyx Pro PTX-15 audio mixer. The PTX-15 is a 4-channel studio mixer with a stereo equalizer, 16 DSP effects and Bluetooth/USB functions, suited to mixing gigs, personal mixes and venue installs. How to record audio to your computer via the PTX-15
Step 1: Connect
Plug in the power adapter, turn on the mixer, and connect it to your PC with a USB-to-USB cable. The LCD shows "PC" when the connection is successful. You cannot use Bluetooth and PC recording at the same time.
Step 2: Choose the mixer as your audio device
Open Audacity or your preferred recording software and select the mixer as the audio input device. In Audacity, find the microphone icon and pick the mixer from the drop-down. To monitor through the mixer, select it as the output device in the speaker icon.
Step 3: Record
Select "Track", click "Add New", and press the red dot to start. The PTX-15 mixes all inputs and records them as a single track (mono or stereo). It does not support multitrack recording.
Step 4: Save
Click "File", then "Save Project".
How to record audio to a MacBook or smartphone via the PTX-15
Step 1: Connect
Use the adapter and a USB-to-USB cable to connect your device to the mixer. The LCD shows "PC" when connected.
Step 2: Record
Open any recording software and start recording. Shape your mix with the EQ, gains or DSP effects. The P/P, previous and next buttons are disabled while recording.
Step 3: Play back
Monitor your recording through the phones output and adjust its volume with the volume knob. You can use the P/P button to pause and play the recorded audio.
